Our instrument petting zoos are designed to allow students to try a variety of instruments before they ultimately choose which instrument they would like to play in band or orchestra. Our staff and teachers are here to help your student learn how to produce a sound and become familiar with how to play each instrument. During the COVID-19 global pandemic, the extent of the hands on nature of the instrument petting zoo will be less than normal. Because of this limitation, we have compiled a group of videos produced by professionals to demonstrate each of the major instruments. Those videos can be found here:
Families are encouraged to schedule an appointment for their student to take part in their own instrument petting zoo. The instruments that will be available for demonstration are: flute, clarinet, saxophone, trumpet, trombone, percussion, violin, viola, and cello. We encourage you to visit the link above and watch the demonstrations so that you can gain a better understanding of each instrument and how they work. This will also help your student make his/her decision in which instrument they would like to play. To make an appointment, follow the link below.
Please note that appointments are reserved for students who are beginning band or orchestra.
